Zofie is doing well

Zofie was having colic during her first few months of birth. Initially I thought that was my fault because I feed her with bottle. When she cried none stop at night she get both of us very frustrated. Recently I have been talking to some full time breastfeeding mummies. They were telling me that their babies had colic too during the first few months. The worst thing was the babies cried for 12 hours none stop from 7pm to 7am. The mummies never get any sleep for 3 months!!!!! The babies cried after the confinement lady left. Wow! At least Zofie wasn’t that bad after all. She cried from 6pm to 11pm or 12.30am. She cried for 1 to 2 months which was much better.

Now in the car I make Zofie sits alone behind. I find it more relax for me. I learned that when she sees me beside her she will make a lot of fuss. When I put her alone she seems quieter. When she needs pacifier or food I would pass them to her from the front and she will grab from me from behind. Sometimes I would need to sit behind because I felt it is time for her milk. I guess I would still have to wait for a long time before I could sit in front again once the second baby comes.

I meet a lot of infant near my area who are as old as Zofie born in March 2007. All of them still eating cereals and some of the grandmas don’t even want to cook lunch for them. I mean. Zofie is eating a lot of solid food. She can even take one big bite of bread. A lot of them don’t believe Zofie at this age can eat so well. Actually I was even shock when I learned these infant still having rice cereals.

I have made up my mind I am not getting maid when my second baby arrives. 1st I hope/trust Zofie is going to be a good girl. 2nd, I rather spend money on buying things for myself and the children then paying for someone’s food and medication. 3rd, I am not keen to look after one more person at home. Anyway I have some neighbors here whose child is as old as Zofie, they could play together anytime. I might need to cater food and get a part time maid that comes once a week just to doing cleaning. However I might have to get a confinement lady to help unless the government allows to gives my husband 60days of paid leaves like in Sweden.
