I would say so far I'm very happy with her teachers and feedback helping Zofie to adjust in a new environment.

Please don't grow up

I was helping Zofie to start preparing 'Chinese spelling', still got 'han yu pin yin' to go through with Zofie. All these are to prepare her for primary school. I looked at her, I think I prefer her to stay young. I hate the stress that the school system is going though. I don't think I am able to handle the stress.

Zofie settle well in Turf. Initially Zofie didn’t like her new classmates because they were forever talking. Yes! I saw the class performance and I went into the class and they were forever talking. Three children asked her the same question over and over again.. “is that your mother?” Zofie Said “Yes.” And they repeat again and again. The children in Halifax were different. When Zofie tried to distribute lollypops the last time to her previous classmates, they were sitting very very quietly on the mat. How nice! But the kids are smart. A man at the butterfly park asked “what plant is this? Beginning with letter G and end with letter A” a boy at Zofie’s age shouted ‘Guava’. I was thinking wa!!! So smart! Zofie is now still at book 2 but some of her classmates are already at book 3.

I was taught by a guru teacher which I find it very meaningful to send this message to my children: Please do not grow up too fast. It is a mistake to grow up soon. Grow up naturally. It is important to have fun now. Prepare to have fun in 10 years time. Who know you will die early. But if you die early, it is important to have fun now. Even if you stay longer, you should know how to have fun! It is important to study. Learn about ecology and earth, how to protect the earth. Not just about maths, science and politics. You should also help others to have fun. If you think only you going to have fun, and let others suffer, you are not going to have fun. To be kind and compassion is important.
